One thing that would make madden franchise more interesting would be allowing non qb superstar xfactor players to have more than 2 superstar abilities. This would be beneficial for the following reasons:

1. Adds more value to SSXF players

Currently there is no incentive to want an XF because the xfactor ability is something that could be hard to earn and ss and xf players are virtually the same. They get the same major abilities and unless they are activated there really is no difference except at QB where SS qbs are nowhere near as valuable as XF qbs.

2. Allows users to play with more non-meta abilities

There are so many abilities that never get used because we have limited slots. For instance flat zone ko and deflator are good abilities, but they are really second tier and no one would choose them over tier one abilities like acrobat or one step ahead. Allowing for more slots for abilities creates an opportunity for more abilities to be understood and valued. Slots are limited so you’re really only going to see the same ability cocktail used amongst all players.

This creates monotony.

3. Allows users to take true advantage of player archetypes

To make sure that these players arent too overpowered We wouldn’t want all abilities to be available to to all players of each size, speed, and overall. We would want to limit the available ability options, so that we wouldn’t see a player with an ability that doesn’t make sense. For instance XF Cooper Cupp doesn’t need a deep out elite or any physical archetype catch in traffic type ability, since his game is more precise route running. Same thing on defense.

Joey bosa shouldn’t qualify for an elite run stopping ability like inside stuff especially if he plays on the edge and isn’t an elite run defender. Also, certain abilities should only be available to players of certain size and speed.

Certain Catch in traffic abilities should only be available to big receivers mean while grab and go and evasive should only be available to smaller receivers etc… This allows users to really feel as if they are playing with their favorite players.
