Osrs is a slow moving game
I got so fed up with it that I installed a traffic monitor and presented them with a infographic of how much network bandwidth they were using vs. OSRS gold (which was practically zero). They said "stop being dramatic, just don't play your game so much".
I love my family dearly, but their tech illiteracy drives me fucking crazy. I'm a CS major now and I've made it very clear to them that I'm going to bill tech support at $85 an hour with a 5 hour minimum. I wouldn't actually, but I'm tired of being the "fix it" guy when they completely ignore the advice I give them and then complain that I didn't help.
Now obv an rs3 player could easily call me out here because I guarantee you I'm being dense about this, but it's just my experience of trying the new combat and getting all the way up in combat 80s in rs3. Still so confused.
Er..have you never played a traditional MMO before? Or any game really lol, same could be said about something such as dark souls. You play and learn. Though i dont see why people would play rs3 over other f2p mmos out there that are 5000x better, but hey everyone has an opinion (not like there's a LOT that play rs3 anyway).
EOC has the combat triangle harshly enforced. Were you trying to kill Lesser Demons with melee? They're magic class enemies, so they ignore a lot of your armor and you have a huge accuracy penalty to hit them with melee.
They're currently doing a lot to help the issue at the moment, for new/returning players there's now the option to have it automatically set up a bar with abilities right from level 3, and at that point you can just forget about it until you get to high level bosses or naturally progress to optimise things manually (and you probably would before getting to any content that requires it). Still not for everyone I guess but it makes it less in your face when starting out.
I love how you put your opinion out there and get downvoted. You didn't present it as a fact or everyone agrees. Just an opinion.
Because Osrs is a slow moving game and camera angle doesn't have a major impact on completing a task. I use zooming in and out much more than middle mouse camera movement.
I was like that until i started playing lms and endgame content. Now i use middle mouse button to move faster so i have more time to focus on everything else. Food, prayer, switches, ect so i dont waste 2 game ticks moving my camera to see a guy standing on the wrong side of me.
It's almost like not having third party clients would finally coerce Jagex into making much needed default client improvements.
And it's not even a negative thing. Deathbeam and the family over at runelite love building it. It's the beauty of open source projects. No one has to work too hard since everyone helps build it together.
I'm not disagreeing that they haven't abandoned the official client in favor of third party clients, I'm saying that they've proven themselves to be capable of updating the 2007 scape official client in the absence of third party clients.
But it's kind of like what blizzard did with add-ons. Pretty much built almost every popular add-on into the base game and made them obsolete.I remember when I was 6 years old, my older cousin introduced me to runescape. I’d always watch him and control the camera for him. Eventually, I was visiting him at one point, he got so frustrated he made me my own account (R.I.P Turner3210) and even grinder a bronze set for me haha. That way he could play and I could use my own camera movement.
